How Many Implants Do I Need To Stabilize My Denture?
In this video, Dr. Gloria Stingley explains how the number of implants affects denture stability and what options exist when bone is limited.
There are patients who have a very insufficient amount of bone. Ideally, the recommended number of implants is four in the mandible, but because of limited bone, some patients can only receive two. Those two implants still make a significant difference for the patient, and they are often very happy with the improvement. I generally recommend no fewer than two implants. Therefore, if you are planning to have your teeth removed, you should consider having implants placed as soon as possible, before further bone loss occurs. The more implants you have, the more stable your denture will be.
