How Long Does It Take To Get a Mini Dental Implant?
In this video, Dr. Gloria Stingley explains what can often be done in a single visit and when additional time may be needed to complete treatment.
I know we live in a time when everyone wants things done quickly. To achieve the best final results with a mini implant, a consultation is required, and in some cases, the implant can be placed the same day. However, the restoration placed on the implant that day will likely be temporary, because the permanent crown is not yet in the office.
Once the implant is placed, we take an impression and place a temporary crown on the implant the same day. You will then typically wait two to three weeks for the permanent crown. After that, you return so we can complete the implant restoration. Ordinarily, the total time needed for the final restoration is minimal, but even on the day of treatment, you can receive an implant and a temporary restoration so you do not leave with a missing tooth.
