Dental Conditions That Must Be Treated Before Oral Surgery
In this video, Dr. Gloria Stingley explains why certain dental issues need attention first to ensure safe, successful long-term results.
The first thing we want to do when we meet a patient is get to know them. We want to understand their medical history, the last time they saw a dentist, and whether they had a good experience. We also want to learn how they feel about their mouth and how they feel about dental care. Our goal is to ensure that each patient has the best dental education and experience possible in our office. We emphasize good oral hygiene because a strong foundation is essential, similar to building a house. You want a house built on solid ground, not quicksand, because you do not want to build a beautiful house only to have it collapse. Making sure the fundamental aspects of oral health are addressed is paramount before proceeding with major procedures.
