When Should I Schedule My Child’s First Dental Appointment?
In this video, Dr. Gloria Stingley explains when children should first see a dentist and how early visits help build comfort and healthy habits.
My practice started as a pediatric practice because I previously worked for the health department.
Many of the children seen through the health department were brought here by their parents to continue care with me. The typical starting age for patients in our office is two and a half years old.
If family members have children and bring them in earlier, we are happy to see them. A parent can hold the child on their lap while we complete the first exam and discuss how to care for the teeth as they erupt. We may not charge for those early visits, but generally, we begin seeing patients at two and a half years of age.
